As you know, I'm a big fan of gel manicure, but in reality they are quite expensive and now I'm working most of the time just to get to the salon can be a struggle. Posted not too long ago about some of my favorite beauty products at home, and I have to give a huge shout to my readers and Los Darianne is recommended that the enamel Gelous manicure at home. Let me tell you how I use (and what else I use it with) and how it has changed the game for my manicure at home!
- File and shape nails, wash and dry.
- Apply base coat of Gelous polish.
- Apply coat of nail color polish.
- Apply another coat of Gelous polish.
- Apply 2nd coat of nail color polish.
- Apply one last coat of Gelous polish.
- Top with Seche Vite polish.
As I write it out it sounds like a lot, but I just had no drying time in between coats (only the time it takes to complete both hands). With Seche Vite top coat as my nails I am very dry to the touch within a couple of minutes and completely dry (how can I go to sleep and not wake up in nails destroyed) within a half hour. The best part is that with this routine nail polish really not my last at least two weeks (through all of our hospital hand washing and sanitizing) without chipping at all. Usually after a week I add a fresh coat of Seche Vite to get the shine back, but that's it! I do not think I'll ever get back to gel manicure real now that I understand this routine, yay to save money and still have beautiful looking nails!
PS I'm wearing Essie Case Study in the photo above! One of my favorite nude shades / gray / olive tree which is unfortunately no longer available :(
